Things to do this Halloweekend in NELA! (Oct 26-31)

Happy Halloween! Here are some local events and activites for upcoming spooky holiday! Halloween poll at the end of the article!


Thursday, October 26

Spend your Thursday evening at Fall Picnic in the Park at Charles Johnson Park from 5pm to 8pm. Presented by Healthy Funroe, picnic with your friends, family, and your local community members!


Are you a Rocky Horror Picture Show fan? Well head to Flying Tiger Brewery in Monroe for Josh Madden's production of The Rocky Horror Show. Showtimes are 10/26 7pm, 10/27 7pm, and 10/28 6pm and 9pm. Tickets are $30.



Friday, October 27

Head to Alley Park on Trenton St in West Monroe from 7pm-9pm to enjoy another Ouachita Live! For the season finale concert, Latin, Cuban, and Jazz artist Alexey Marti will be performing! Come enjoy the live music and local food trucks. Halloween costumes encouraged!


Saturday, October 28

Get ready for BOO at the Zoo! Head to the Louisiana Purchase Gadens and Zoo for a day of Halloween fun! There will be local vendors, as well as trick-or-treating. There will also be animal ecounters! Wear your best costume to enter the costume contest!


After the zoo, head to Trunk-or-Treat at Blue Bikes at 94 Lincoln Rd in Monroe from 1pm-4pm. It is the 4th annual truck-or-treat and there will be treats and a raffle!


After the Trunk-or-Treat at Blue Bikes, the Cheniere Lake Lodge will be having a Community Fall Festival! From 3:30pm-5pm, Life Church West Monroe is hosting this free event that includes treats, games, bouncers, pony rides, and more! The first 200 kids get a free gift bag!


Back in Monroe, on Louisville Ave, DIY Joyful Creations is having a Halloween Costume Party. From 6pm-8:30pm enjoy spooky crafts, face painting, and a cake walk for only $10!


Full moon on Halloweekend? Count me in! Meeting in front of the visitor's center at 8pm at Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge, members of the community will go on a full moon nature hike! The hike will go along the nature trail out to the pier where the full moon can be seen rising over the water and trees. This is a family-friendly hike on a trail that is easily accessible for wheelchair and strollers!


Sunday, October 29

Take a day trip to Shreveport on Sunday to visit the Louisiana State Fair! From October 26-November 12, head to the fair for super yummy foods, rides, livestock shows, live music, and more!


Monday, October 30

If you missed the last one, here is another Monroe Mashup Scavenger Hunt! Starting at 11am at CC's Coffee House on Tower Dr in Monroe, spend two hours doing a local scavenger hunt. The game alternates between indoors and outdoors and is family and dog friendly. Tickets are $24 for this event.


Tuesday, October 31

On Halloween night, head to Louisville Ave to Boo with the Krewe of Janus on from 5pm-7:30pm! All ages are welcome to trick-or-treat throught their parade floats!


Trick-or-Treat in your own neighborhood, or head to Frenchman's Bend to Trick-or-Treat in the Bend. From 5:30pm-9pm, all areas of the neighborhood will have candy. Entry will be on Frenchman's Bend Rd and exit is on E Frenchman's Bend Rd. Traffic will flow one way. Have fun and stay safe!
